The ideology for my front page is to attract the target audience which is year 12 and 13 male and female students at wyke college. The aim is to attract the audience to attend a catwalk produced by wyke textile and photograpgy students. The Photography students are taking the pictures and arranging the catwalk whilst the textile students have made all the clothing and accesories which are been modeled by fellow students. The main focus point on my magazine cover is the picture. The picture is representing a student wearing one of the hats made by a girl who is studying textiles. The picture if of a female which attracts the male audience and because it is a 'fashion' show the female audience becomes interested. The image is bright and colourful using neutral colours such as browns, creams and beiges this also aims the magazine at both sexes. The image is a medium snap shot which makes it moe interesting the audience feel more involved as it is quite close up. The angle of the picture is quite diagonal which makes the girl's expression more focused and it is as though she is looking straight into the camera which also makes the audience feel involved.
The masthead is white with a yellow background which is also neutral and blends in with the rest of the theme colours on the splash. The subheading is in pink which attratcs the female audience and the because the subheading is talking about fashion, celebrities and A-Lists i felt the pink would be more effective as it is a stereo typical colour which relates to girls and that is who the magazine is half aimed at.
The plugs on the left hand side of the splash all have a navy blue background which stands out from the picture and the masthead and headline which makes the readers view point focus on them. The information given on the plugs informs the reader of other stories, results, pictures or events shown inside so the viewer has an idea of what this magazine will entail. The writing used for the 'Hymers Vs Wyke' is a deep red for hymers which contrasts with the yellow which 'Wyke is written in. This is because yellow has bee used previously on the page to symbolise wyke and the red symbolises hymers college as their uniform is red. The red could also suggest rivallary and danger as they are in competetion with wyke students when they are playing rugby. The halloween pictures writing is in white which is bold and harsh looking which makes it look important and effective and also links with the welly sign and because the party was at welly club i have placed a welly logo underneath the picture. The white also clashes with the headline 'fashion frenzy' and the masthead. The picture in the plug is of a wyke student which i took personally and it is showing her dressed up in halloween and attending the wyke college party.
